Your Message	Dear (We will add your MPs name here), I am writing to ask you to support the No More BPA campaign initiated by Breast Cancer UK. The Campaign calls for the Government to end the use of the chemical BPA (Bisphenol A) in baby bottles. This call is also supported by NCT (formerly National Childbirth Trust), UNISON, the Women’s Environmental Network, Cancer Prevention and Education Society and CHEM Trust. Over the past decade hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific studies have raised serious health concerns about low level exposure to BPA as potentially leading to an increased risk of developing breast cancer and other chronic health conditions. Scientists have particularly expressed concerns about exposure to BPA in newborns, whose levels of BPA are much higher than adults since they have not developed the ability to clear this chemical from their bodies as quickly as adults. Responding to these concerns, the Canadian Government is banning the use of BPA in baby bottles; polycarbonate baby bottles made with BPA have also been withdrawn from the shelves in the USA. According to the results of a national opinion poll survey, conducted in November 2009, 79% of the public want the Government to take a precautionary approach on BPA and exposure to babies while 61% want an outright ban on the use of BPA in baby bottles. I would ask you to sign Early Day Motion 293, Bisphenol A and Baby Bottles, that is currently tabled and also write to the Secretary of State at the Department of Health calling on him to take action to end the use of BPA in baby bottles to safeguard very young babies.
